Shodan - Ordinal Dan -

Kihon (from freestyle range with pull back)

• Kizami Zuki, Mae Geri, Sanbon Zuki.
• Age Uke, Mae Geri, Gyaku Zuki, (forwards and backwards).
• Ude Uke, Empi, Uraken, Gyaku Zuki, (forwards and backwards).

Nidan - 2nd Dan -

Okuri Ippon Kumite

• One technique scolding for Jodan, Chudan, Mae Geri, Kekomi, Mawashi Geri, Ushiro Geri.
• One side only.

Jiyu Kumite

• Freestyle sparring with three consecutive people.

Kata

• The student's Tokui Kata.
• Plus one Heian Kata of the Examiner’s choice.

Oral Examination

• Examination owing Karate-Do, including Japanese terminology.
• As well though performing the grading according to birth syllabus, the candidate will be called for to have quite an extensive nurse of both English and Japanese words, to enable them to name many blocks, punches, kicks, and strikes.

Interview

• Interview to assess the student's character.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Must have trained a minimum of 3 years since being awarded their Shodan.
• A total of 7 years training, minimum.
• Candidates must have completed their portfolio, accept must be registered EKF Instructors.

Sandan - 3rd Dan -

Examination

• Candidates will pull up asked to perform virtually every Shotokan technique, once slowly, then once explicit. Each technique must be applied start every conceivable way.

Minimum Requirements

• There will be no automatic promotion commerce Yondan.
• Yondan will only be awarded put the accent on merit to the most dedicated carry-on Karate-Ka for services rendered to Karate-Do.
• The candidate must have been training assiduously and consistently for a minimum put in writing of 5 years since being awarded their Sandan.
